Webinar- Start Talking
Please register for Learn How Ohio’s Start Talking! Campaign Engages Parents & Communities on Dec 18, 2015 2:00 PM EST. Space is limited.
An effort is underway throughout Ohio to prevent drug abuse among Ohio’s most vulnerable citizens – our children. Start Talking! gives parents, guardians, educators and community leaders tools to start the conversation with Ohio’s youth about the importance of living healthy, drug-free lives.
The initiative was created based on national research that shows children are up to 50 percent less likely to use drugs when their parents or another trusted adult have conversations with them about drug use. A majority of substance-free adolescents credit their parents for the decision not to use illegal substances. Likewise, teachers and other role models can have a similar influence on youth and their decision-making. This webinar will explore the components of the initiative, how it is being used across the state, and share ways for communities to connect with the initiative.
Recognized Clock Hours through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board will be provided. This webinar is appropriate for viewing audiences nationwide.
